Workplace Disability Evaluations
Psychological evaluations for ADA workplace accommodations, short-term disability claims, and Schedule A federal hiring eligibility.ADA Workplace Accommodations
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) allows qualified employees with mental health conditions, such as ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, and depression, to request reasonable workplace accommodations. An ADA evaluation assesses how your symptoms affect essential job functions and identifies related functional limitations.
The evaluation provides objective clinical documentation to support your employer’s interactive process. Potential accommodations may include flexible scheduling or remote work, modified workspaces or reduced-distraction environments, adjusted communication methods, structured task-management systems, or modified break schedules.
Short-Term Disability Evaluation
When a diagnosed mental health condition causes significant functional impairment that interferes with your ability to work, short-term disability benefits may provide temporary income replacement during recovery. Short-term disability benefits are determined under the terms of your insurance policy, while employment leave is governed by your employer’s requirements and applicable leave laws.
This evaluation clarifies the diagnosis, evaluates symptom severity, and assesses current occupational capacity. When clinically supported, we complete applicable carrier forms, such as Attending Physician Statements, and provide objective documentation for the insurer’s review.
Schedule A Letter
Federal agencies may use the Schedule A hiring authority to consider applicants with qualifying psychiatric, intellectual, or severe physical disabilities through a noncompetitive hiring process. Applicants may submit a Schedule A letter with a federal application or directly to an agency’s Selective Placement Program Coordinator.
Many applicants have difficulty obtaining a Schedule A letter from a treating provider. Some clinicians do not complete employment-related documentation, have practice policies that limit these requests, or may need an independent evaluation before a letter can be supported.
This evaluation determines whether the available clinical evidence supports Schedule A eligibility under 5 C.F.R. § 213.3102(u). When supported, we provide a signed Schedule A letter from a licensed psychologist for submission to a federal hiring agency or Selective Placement Program Coordinator.
